Arthur Nightingale

Arthur Tulloch Nightingale (born 1931) is a British actor known for his work in stage, television, and film. Nightingale began his acting career later in life, attending drama school at the age of 42. He has performed in plays by Shakespeare and Brecht, as well as had minor roles in musicals. His television career started in 1978 with a role in the British TV series Pinocchio. Since then, Nightingale has had supporting or guest roles in various British TV productions, including Great Expectations, Jane, The Professionals, Classic Ghost Stories, London's Burning, Under the Moon, The Bill, and Derek. He has also appeared in notable British movies such as Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and Quartet. In late 2015, Nightingale gained worldwide attention for his role in the viral Christmas commercial #heimkommen by the German supermarket chain Edeka.
