Ashley Nicole Black

Ashley Nicole Black (born June 15, 1985) is an American comedian, actress, writer, and producer. She gained recognition as a writer and correspondent for Full Frontal with Samantha Bee from 2016 to 2019, earning a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special. Black is also known for her work on Ted Lasso, The Amber Ruffin Show, and A Black Lady Sketch Show, where she serves as a writer and stars in the latter. Born in Los Angeles and raised in Walnut, California, she graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz, with a degree in theatre arts and later received a master's degree in performance studies from Northwestern University. Prior to her comedy career, Black attended improv classes at the Second City.
