Aura Mayari, also known as Jay-R de Leon, is a Filipino-American drag performer. Born and raised in the Philippines, de Leon's family relocated to the United States in 2003. It was in Chicago where de Leon discovered the world of drag and began performing at Play in Nashville, Tennessee. In 2023, de Leon competed as Aura Mayari on the fifteenth season of RuPaul's Drag Race, where she showcased her talent and creativity. While she won the girl group challenge, Aura Mayari was eventually eliminated on the seventh episode after placing in the bottom two in an acting challenge. She continues to be an inspiration in the drag community.
