Austin Robert Butler (born August 17, 1991) is an American actor. He gained recognition for his roles on television, starting with the Disney Channel and Nickelodeon, including appearances on Zoey 101 and teen dramas like The CW's Life Unexpected and Switched at Birth. Butler's notable television credits also include starring roles on The Carrie Diaries and The Shannara Chronicles. He made his Broadway debut in the 2018 revival of The Iceman Cometh and appeared as Tex Watson in Quentin Tarantino's film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Butler is best known for his portrayal of Elvis Presley in the musical biopic Elvis. In 2022, he won a Golden Globe and a BAFTA Award for his performance and received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. Austin Butler was named one of Time magazine's 100 most influential people in the world in 2023.
