Lavigne signed a two-album recording contract with Arista Records at the age of 16. Her debut studio album, Let Go (2002), became the best-selling album of the 21st century by a Canadian artist. It featured the hit singles 'Complicated' and 'Sk8er Boi', establishing Lavigne as the 'Pop-Punk Queen'. Her second album, Under My Skin (2004), reached number one on the Billboard 200 chart. Lavigne's third studio album, The Best Damn Thing (2007), topped the charts in multiple countries.
