Aysha Kala

Aysha Kala is an English actress and theatre maker, born in 1990/1991. She gained recognition for her roles in the Channel 4 series Shameless (2011) and Indian Summers (2015–2016). Kala was named a 2015 BAFTA Breakthrough Brit. She grew up in Snaresbrook, East London, and attended Chigwell School. Kala graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in 2013. Her television debut was in Shameless as Sita Desai, and she made her stage debut with the Royal Shakespeare Company in Much Ado About Nothing. Kala's feature film debut was in Jadoo. She has also been nominated for awards, including an Ian Charleson Award and an Off West End Award.
