Bahni Turpin is an American audiobook narrator, stage, and screen actor born on June 4, 1962, in Pontiac, Michigan. Based in Los Angeles, Turpin has established herself as a prominent figure in the audiobook industry, lending her voice to popular and critically-acclaimed books like The Help and The Hate U Give. Her exceptional talent has earned her numerous accolades, including 9 Audie Awards, 14 Earphone Awards, and 2 Odyssey Awards. Turpin is recognized as one of AudioFile magazine's Golden Voice Narrators and was named Audible's Narrator of the Year in 2016. In addition to her audiobook work, Turpin has appeared in the film Daughters of the Dust and on television shows like Criminal Minds. She is also a member of the Cornerstone Theater Company.
