Barbara Allyne Bennet (September 7, 1940 – January 9, 2016) was an American film, television and theater actress and union executive. With a career spanning over fifty years, she made notable contributions to the entertainment industry. Bennet served on the national board of directors of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) from 2005 to 2007 and chaired SAG's casting committee. She was also a member of the SAG-AFTRA Film Society Executive Committee and actively fundraised for the Western Council of the Actors Fund. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Bennet earned a bachelor's degree in theater from Case Western Reserve University. She appeared on Broadway in Gorilla Queen and Off-Broadway in Boy on the Straight-Back Chair before making her mark in film and television.
