Barbara Babcock Biography
Barbara Babcock is an American actress known for her roles in various television series and films. Born in the United States, she spent a significant part of her childhood in Tokyo, Japan, where she learned to speak Japanese before English. Babcock attended the University of Lausanne in Switzerland and the University of Milan in Italy, in addition to graduating from Wellesley College. Her television career began in 1956 and includes appearances in the original series of Star Trek, where she primarily provided uncredited voice roles. Babcock gained recognition for her role as Grace Gardner on Hill Street Blues, winning an Emmy Award in 1981. She also portrayed Dorothy Jennings on Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, earning an Emmy nomination in 1995. Babcock made her film debut in the 1968 Western Day of the Evil Gun.
