Barbara Barrie

Barbara Barrie is an American actress and author, born on May 23, 1931. She gained recognition for her role as Julie in the 1964 film One Potato, Two Potato, earning her the Best Actress Award at the Cannes Film Festival. Barrie is most notable for her portrayal of Evelyn Stohler in Breaking Away, which earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress in 1979, as well as an Emmy Award nomination in 1981 when she reprised the role in the television series adaptation. She is also remembered for her portrayal of the wife of the titular character in the detective sitcom Barney Miller from 1975 to 1978. Additionally, Barrie has had a successful career in theater, receiving a Tony Award nomination for her role in Stephen Sondheim's Company in 1971.
