Barbara Marten (born 3 January 1947) is a British actress known for her roles in various television dramas. She gained recognition for her portrayal of Eve Montgomery in the popular medical drama series Casualty. Marten has also appeared in well-known soaps such as Eastenders and Brookside, as well as other drama serials including Harry, The Bill, and Band of Gold. Born in Leeds, West Riding of Yorkshire, Marten grew up in County Durham. She initially attended an all-girls school in Norton and later studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. After training as a teacher, Marten eventually returned to her passion for acting, joining theater groups in Coventry and Doncaster before embarking on her successful television career.
