Bari Weiss

Bari Weiss (born March 25, 1984) is an American journalist, writer, and editor. She is known for her work as an op-ed and book review editor at The Wall Street Journal (2013–2017) and as an op-ed staff editor and writer on culture and politics at The New York Times (2017–2020). Since March 2021, she has been a regular columnist for German daily newspaper Die Welt. Weiss is also the founder of The Free Press (formerly Common Sense), a media company, and hosts the podcast Honestly. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Weiss attended Pittsburgh's Community Day School and Shady Side Academy. She has a strong connection to her Jewish heritage and had her bat mitzvah ceremony at the Tree of Life Synagogue.
