Barrett Martin

Barrett Martin (born April 14, 1967) is an American record producer, percussionist, writer, and ethnomusicologist. He is known for his work with alternative rock bands Screaming Trees and Mad Season, as well as being a member of Skin Yard, Tuatara, and Walking Papers. Martin has also produced albums for Shipibo Shamans in the Peruvian Amazon Rainforest and Neets'ai Gwich'in in the Alaskan Arctic. As a producer, he has won a Latin Grammy and been nominated in two other categories. With a background in music, Martin studied at Western Washington University and later earned bachelor's and master's degrees in ethnomusicology from the University of New Mexico.
