Barry Marder is an American stand-up comedian, actor, and writer. He is known for his portrayal of Ted L. Nancy, the author of the Letters from a Nut book series. Marder has been the opening act for Jerry Seinfeld across the United States and has written for notable personalities such as Bill Maher, Jay Leno, and David Letterman. He co-wrote the DreamWorks film Bee Movie alongside Jerry Seinfeld, Spike Feresten, and Andy Robin, which was released in 2007. Marder has also made appearances on Seinfeld's web series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. He appeared in the 1984 comedy film Where the Boys Are '84 under the name Rappaport. Marder's pseudonym Ted L. Nancy has produced several prank letter books including Letters from a Nut and More Letters from a Nut.
