Barry Sonnenfeld Biography
Barry Sonnenfeld (born April 1, 1953) is an American filmmaker and television director. He is best known for his work as a cinematographer for the Coen brothers before transitioning to directing films. Some of his notable directorial credits include The Addams Family (1991), Addams Family Values (1993), Get Shorty (1995), the Men in Black trilogy (1997–2012), and Wild Wild West (1999). Sonnenfeld was born and raised in New York City and comes from a Jewish family. He studied at Hampshire College and later graduated from New York University Film School in 1978. Sonnenfeld's career started in the adult film industry before he found success in mainstream cinema through his collaboration with the Coen brothers.
