Barry Van Dyke

Barry Van Dyke (born July 31, 1951) is an American actor and the second son of actor and entertainer Dick Van Dyke and Margie Willett. He is best known for his role as Lieutenant Detective Steve Sloan, the son of Dr. Mark Sloan (played by Dick Van Dyke), on the TV show Diagnosis: Murder. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Van Dyke made his television debut on The Dick Van Dyke Show alongside his brother Christian. However, his father encouraged him to wait before pursuing a show business career, prioritizing his childhood. Van Dyke's relatives in Diagnosis: Murder were frequently played by his real-life family members.
