Bas Rutten Biography
Bas Rutten, born Sebastiaan Rutten on February 24, 1965, is a Dutch actor, former mixed martial artist, kickboxer, and professional wrestler. He gained recognition as a UFC Heavyweight Champion and a three-time King of Pancrase world champion during his fighting career. Rutten retired on a 22-fight unbeaten streak, with 21 wins and 1 draw. He is well-known for popularizing the use of liver shots in MMA and is admired for his charisma. Rutten has appeared in multiple television shows, movies, and video games, and has worked as a color commentator for various MMA organizations, including Pride. Additionally, he coaches MMA and has authored instructional materials. Rutten became a naturalized American citizen in the late 1990s and was ranked as the fourth-greatest mixed martial arts fighter of all time by Inside MMA in 2008.
