Bashir Salahuddin

Bashir Salahuddin (born July 6, 1976) is an American actor, writer, and comedian. He was born and raised in the South Side of Chicago, Illinois, with his father originally from Panama and his mother growing up on the West Side of Chicago. Salahuddin's parents met at Southern Illinois University and converted to Islam in the early 1970s. He has three brothers and two sisters, as well as two younger siblings from his father's second marriage. Salahuddin's father worked as an airplane mechanic for Midway Airlines, and his family enjoyed stand-by trips across the U.S. due to their airline employee status. After graduating from Harvard University in 1998, where he was a pre-medical student, Salahuddin pursued a career in theater.
