    Ben Esler is an Australian actor and screenwriter, known for his roles in various television series. He gained recognition for portraying Sean McGinnes in the AMC show Hell on Wheels and war hero Chuck Tatum in HBO's The Pacific. Esler is also a writer and cast member of the upcoming series A Small Light, which focuses on the story of Miep Gies, who protected Anne Frank and her family during the Shoah. Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, he graduated from the University of Melbourne with a master's degree in Applied Ethics. Esler began his acting career with appearances in Blue Heelers and ABC's Curtin. He continues to pursue his passion for acting and writing.
