    Ben Folds Biography
    Benjamin Scott Folds (born September 12, 1966) is an American singer-songwriter from Greensboro, North Carolina. He gained prominence as the frontman and pianist of the alternative rock trio Ben Folds Five from 1993 to 2000, and during their reunion from 2011 to 2013. Folds has released numerous solo albums and has collaborated with musicians such as Regina Spektor and 'Weird Al' Yankovic. He has also worked on experimental songwriting projects with actor William Shatner and authors including Nick Hornby and Neil Gaiman. Since May 2017, Folds has been the first artistic advisor to the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. He is known for performing his music with unconventional instrumentation, including symphony orchestras and chamber ensembles.
