Benjamin Edward Murphy, born Benjamin Edward Castleberry Jr. on March 6, 1942, is an American actor known for his portrayal of Kid Curry in the ABC television series Alias Smith and Jones. Born in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Murphy was adopted by his stepfather, Patrick Henry Murphy, after his mother's remarriage in 1956. He grew up in Clarendon Hills, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. Murphy attended St. Procopius Academy in Lisle, Illinois, before embarking on a career in acting. He has appeared in various television shows and movies, including a supporting role in The Name of the Game. Murphy has a son named Joshua Spriestersbach from his relationship with Suzanne Bardin.
