Ben Platt, born on September 24, 1993, is an American actor, singer, and songwriter. He is best known for his work in musical theater, particularly for originating the title role in the Broadway musical 'Dear Evan Hansen' (2015-2017). Platt's performance in 'Dear Evan Hansen' earned him numerous accolades, including a Tony, Emmy, and Grammy Award. He became the youngest solo recipient of the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical at the age of 23. Platt also appeared in the 2021 film adaptation of 'Dear Evan Hansen,' reprising his role as Evan Hansen. Additionally, he played Leo Frank in the 2022 New York City Center Gala production of 'Parade.'
