Ben Vereen

Ben Vereen, born Benjamin Augustus Middleton on October 10, 1946, is an American actor, dancer, and singer. He gained recognition for his performances in the original Broadway productions of Jesus Christ Superstar and Pippin, winning a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for the latter. Born in Laurinburg, North Carolina, Vereen was adopted by James and Pauline Vereen and raised in Brooklyn, New York City. He discovered his adoption when he applied for a passport to join Sammy Davis Jr. on a tour. Vereen exhibited talent for drama and dance from a young age, performing in local variety shows. His impressive career includes numerous film and television appearances, showcasing his versatile skills.
