Benny Andersson Biography
Göran Bror Benny Andersson, born on December 16, 1946, is a Swedish musician, composer, and producer. He is widely recognized as a member of the famous pop group ABBA and a co-composer of the hit musicals Chess, Kristina från Duvemåla, and Mamma Mia! Andersson also served as an executive producer for the 2008 film adaptation of Mamma Mia! and its 2018 sequel, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. In addition to his work with ABBA, Andersson has been active with his own band called Benny Anderssons orkester since 2001. He developed a passion for music at a young age, learning Swedish folk music and traditional melodies from his father and grandfather, who both played the accordion.
