Bernard Kates

Bernard Kates (December 26, 1922 – February 2, 2010) was an American actor who appeared on television, in movies, and on stage. He served as a bomber pilot during World War II and received an Air Medal with three clusters and a Distinguished Flying Cross. Kates was a life member of The Actors Studio. His film credits include Judgment at Nuremberg, The Babe, and The Phantom. On television, he portrayed Sigmund Freud in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode 'Phantasms' and a Jewish resistance fighter in the 1960 play 'In the Presence of Mine Enemies'. Kates also had notable Broadway credits and was a resident actor at the Great Lakes Shakespeare Festival and the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts.
