Bess Wohl

Bess Wohl is an American playwright, screenwriter, and actress known for her work in theater. She has written plays such as Grand Horizons and Small Mouth Sounds, and collaborated with composer/lyricist Michael Friedman on the musical Pretty Filthy. Wohl grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and developed a passion for theater at a young age. She attended Harvard College for her BA in English and later pursued an MFA in acting at the Yale School of Drama. Wohl's plays have been produced in various venues in New York City and across the United States. Her musical, Pretty Filthy, received nominations for the Lucille Lortel Award and Drama Desk Award in 2015.
