Bessie Beatrice Carter is an English actress born on October 25, 1993. She is best known for her roles as Evie Wilcox in the BBC television series Howards End (2017) and Violet Woodhouse in the ITV television series Beecham House (2019). Bessie's parents are renowned actors Imelda Staunton and Jim Carter. In 2007, the three of them appeared together in the BBC series Cranford, with Bessie playing the role of Margaret Gidman. She attended Francis Holland School before completing her A Levels at Camden School for Girls. Bessie studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she graduated in 2016 and won the Spotlight Prize for Best Screen Actor that same year.
