Betty Buckley Biography
Betty Lynn Buckley (born July 3, 1947) is an American actress and singer. She is a Tony Award-winning actress and has been nominated for two Daytime Emmy Awards, two Grammy Awards, and an Olivier Award. Buckley gained recognition for her role as Grizabella in the original Broadway production of Cats, winning the 1983 Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. She also played Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard and received a 1995 Olivier Award nomination. Other notable Broadway credits include 1776, Pippin, and The Mystery of Edwin Drood. Buckley starred in the TV series Eight Is Enough and appeared in the 1976 film Carrie. She continues to be an active performer on stage and screen.
