Beverly Heather D'Angelo (born November 15, 1951) is an American actress known for her role as Ellen Griswold in the National Lampoon's Vacation film series (1983–2015). With over 60 films to her credit, D'Angelo has had a successful career in both film and television. She garnered critical acclaim for her portrayal of Patsy Cline in Coal Miner's Daughter (1980), earning her a Golden Globe nomination. D'Angelo also received an Emmy nomination for her role as Stella Kowalski in the TV film A Streetcar Named Desire (1984). Other notable film roles include Hair (1979) and American History X (1998). Born in Columbus, Ohio, D'Angelo is of Italian descent and comes from a musical and artistic background.
