Big Freedia

Freddie Ross Jr., known professionally as Big Freedia, is an American rapper and performer born on January 28, 1978. He rose to fame for his contributions to the New Orleans hip hop genre known as bounce music. Big Freedia played a pivotal role in popularizing the genre, which had been primarily underground since its inception in the early 1990s. His talents were recognized in 2011 when he was named Best Emerging Artist and Best Hip-Hop/Rap Artist at the 'Best of the Beat Awards'. In 2013, he starred in his own reality show on the Fuse Channel, providing an intimate look into his life on tour and at home. Big Freedia is also a published author with his autobiography, 'God Save the Queen Diva!', released in 2015.
