Bellamy attended Seton Hall Preparatory School and studied economics at Rutgers University. He became a well-known figure on MTV, serving as a VJ and hosting shows like MTV Jamz and MTV Beach House. Bellamy has appeared in numerous movies, including Fled, Love Jones, The Brothers, How to Be a Player, Getting Played, and Any Given Sunday.
