Bill Brochtrup Biography
William Brochtrup Jr. (born March 7, 1963) is an American actor known for his role as PAA John Irvin, a gay police public assistant, on the ABC television drama NYPD Blue. Born in Inglewood, California, Brochtrup was raised in Tacoma, Washington, and graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in 1985. He moved to Los Angeles after college to pursue an acting career and appeared in various roles in the 1980s under the name William Brochtrup. Brochtrup has also had an extensive theatre career, performing in productions such as Snakebit, Noises Off, and Peace In Our Time.
