Bill Cosby Biography
Bill Cosby, born William Henry Cosby Jr. on July 12, 1937, is an American comedian, actor, spokesman, and media personality. He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Cliff Huxtable on The Cosby Show from 1984 to 1992, earning him the nickname 'America's Dad.' Cosby began his career as a stand-up comic in the 1960s and released several successful comedy albums, winning the Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album from 1965 to 1970. He also starred in the television crime show I Spy from 1965 to 1968, becoming the first African American to win an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. In 2014, Cosby faced sexual assault allegations, resulting in the revocation of many of his awards and honorary degrees.
