Bill Fagerbakke, born William Fagerbakke on October 4, 1957, is an American actor. He is best known for his role as Michael 'Dauber' Dybinski on the sitcom Coach and for voicing Patrick Star in the SpongeBob SquarePants franchise. Fagerbakke has appeared in 12 episodes of the sitcom How I Met Your Mother as Marshall Eriksen's father Marvin. He was born in Fontana, California and moved to Rupert, Idaho during his youth. Fagerbakke graduated from Minico High School in Rupert in 1975, where he excelled as a three-sport athlete in football, basketball, and track. He attended the University of Idaho, where he played as a defensive lineman for the Vandals football team.
