Bill Turnbull

Bill Turnbull (25 January 1956 – 31 August 2022) was a British television and radio presenter and journalist. With a career spanning over 4 decades, he worked for various radio stations including Radio Clyde and BBC Radio 4's Today. He gained recognition as one of the main presenters of BBC Breakfast, a role he held for 15 years from 2001 to 2016. Turnbull also presented BBC News 24 and BBC Radio 5 Live. Later in his career, he hosted the religious series Songs of Praise and the game show Think Tank, as well as being a presenter on Classic FM. Born in Guildford, Surrey, he attended Eton College and the University of Edinburgh before graduating from Cardiff University in 1978.
