Bill Wallis Biography
Bill Wallis (20 November 1936 – 6 September 2013) was a British character actor and comedian known for his appearances in radio, television, and theater. Born in Guildford, Surrey, Wallis attended Farnham Grammar School before earning a State Scholarship to St John's College, Cambridge, where he met Peter Cook and David Frost. Wallis took over the roles played by Alan Bennett in Beyond the Fringe when the team took the show to Broadway. His television credits include The Avengers, Chelmsford 123, Doctor at Large, The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, The Box of Delights, and various roles in the Blackadder series. Wallis made significant contributions to the entertainment industry throughout his career.
