Billy Porter, born William Ellis Porter II on September 21, 1969, is an accomplished American actor and singer. He first made a name for himself performing on Broadway before embarking on a successful solo career as a singer and actor. Porter's breakthrough came with his portrayal of Lola in the hit musical Kinky Boots, for which he won the prestigious 2013 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical. This role allowed him to explore his feminine side and challenge toxic masculinity. Porter's talent was further recognized with a Drama Desk Award and an Outer Critics Circle Award.
