Billy Squier (born May 12, 1950) is an American musician, singer, and songwriter known for his arena rock and crossover hits in the early 1980s. He gained popularity with songs like "The Stroke", "Lonely Is the Night", and "My Kinda Lover". Squier's 1981 album "Don't Say No" is considered a landmark release in the arena rock genre, blending power pop and hard rock. During his successful period from 1981 to 1984, he had five Top 10 Mainstream Rock hits, two of which reached number one. Squier's music received heavy rotation on MTV and radio.
