Billy Van

Billy Van, born William Allan Van Evera on August 11, 1934, in Toronto, Ontario, was a Canadian comedian, actor, and singer. At a young age, he formed a singing group called the Van Evera Brothers, which toured North America. Eventually, he pursued a solo career as a singer, leading the Billy Van Four and the Billy Van Singers. He gained national recognition in 1963 as a performer on CBC Television's Nightcap. Van appeared in numerous Canadian variety television shows, such as Fancy Free. Aside from his singing and comedy career, he also had notable acting roles in movies and TV shows. Billy Van passed away on January 8, 2003.
