    B.J. Crosby Biography
    B.J. Crosby, also known as Lady B.J., was an American jazz vocalist, singer, and actress. Born Joanne Crayton on November 23, 1952, in New Orleans, Louisiana, she began her career singing in church choirs and local theaters. In 1995, Crosby received a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her role in Smokey Joe's Cafe, where she performed solo parts in songs like 'Hound Dog' and 'Fools Fall in Love'. Crosby was also the lead singer of the R&B and jazz band Spectrum, and released an album called The New Orleans Music with Ellis Marsalis Jr. and Germaine Bazzle. She passed away on March 27, 2015.
