Bo Dietl Biography
Richard A. 'Bo' Dietl, born on December 4, 1950, is an American retired NYPD police detective, media personality, and actor. He is the founder and CEO of Beau Dietl & Associates and Beau Dietl Consulting Services. Dietl was born and raised in Queens, New York, and attended Richmond Hill High School. After working as a unionized concrete laborer and iron worker, he joined the New York City Police Department, where he served for fifteen years. As a high-profile detective, he made over 1,400 felony arrests and received 62 medals. Dietl retired in 1985. He also authored the autobiography 'One Tough Cop,' which was adapted into the film 'One Tough Cop' in 1998.
