Bob Balaban Biography
Robert Elmer Balaban (born August 16, 1945) is an American actor, author, comedian, director, and producer. He is known for his appearances in the Christopher Guest comedies Waiting for Guffman (1996), Best in Show (2000), A Mighty Wind (2003), and For Your Consideration (2006), as well as Wes Anderson films such as Moonrise Kingdom (2012) and The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014). Balaban has also appeared in films like Midnight Cowboy (1969), Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977), and Capote (2005). He has directed three feature films, as well as numerous TV episodes and films. Balaban is also an author of children's novels.
