Bob Denver Biography
Bob Denver (January 9, 1935 – September 2, 2005) was an American comedic actor known for his roles as Gilligan on the television series Gilligan's Island (1964–1967) and Maynard G. Krebs on The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis (1959–1963). Born in New Rochelle, New York, Denver was raised in Brownwood, Texas. He graduated from Loyola University with a degree in political science and acted in college productions. Denver's career primarily focused on television, though he also made appearances in films and on Broadway. His portrayal of Gilligan made him widely recognized and associated with the iconic title character.
