Bob Kerrey Biography
Joseph Robert Kerrey, born on August 27, 1943, is an American politician and former Navy SEAL officer. He served as the 35th governor of Nebraska from 1983 to 1987 and as a United States Senator from Nebraska from 1989 to 2001. During the Vietnam War, Kerrey displayed heroism in combat and was awarded the Medal of Honor. After retiring from politics, he became the president of The New School in New York City from 2001 to 2010. Additionally, Kerrey was selected to head the Motion Picture Association of America in 2010, but an agreement could not be reached, leading to the selection of Chris Dodd instead.
