Robert Barisford Brown Sr. (born February 5, 1969) is an American singer, songwriter, rapper, and dancer. Brown is known for his contributions to the R&B and pop group New Edition, where he was a member from 1978 to 1985. He later embarked on a successful solo career, with his album Don't Be Cruel (1988) garnering critical acclaim and commercial success. The album produced several hit singles, including the number one hit 'My Prerogative' and the Grammy Award-winning 'Every Little Step'. Brown also contributed to the soundtrack of Ghostbusters II with two songs.
