William Royce 'Boz' Scaggs is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist, born on June 8, 1944. He gained recognition as a bandmate of Steve Miller in The Ardells in the early 1960s and the Steve Miller Band from 1967-1968. Scaggs embarked on a solo career in 1969, and his breakthrough came with his 1976 album 'Silk Degrees,' which peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200. The album produced hit singles like 'Lido Shuffle' and 'Lowdown.' Scaggs continued to achieve success with platinum-certified albums such as 'Down Two Then Left' and 'Middle Man.' In the 1990s, he opened the popular San Francisco music venue, Slim's. Throughout his career, Scaggs has released several albums, with his latest being 2018's 'Out of the Blues.'
