Brandi Denise Chastain (born July 21, 1968) is an American retired soccer player, coach, and sports broadcaster. She played for the United States national team from 1988 to 2004, scoring 30 goals in 192 caps. Chastain was a two-time FIFA Women's World Cup champion and a two-time Olympic gold medalist. Her most memorable moment came in the 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup final, where she scored the winning penalty shootout goal against China. She played professionally for Shiroki FC, San Jose CyberRays, FC Gold Pride, and California Storm. Chastain was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame in 2017 and the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame in 2018.
