Born in Oakland, California and raised in Austin, Minnesota, she began her television career in 1980 at KGTV as a consumer advocacy reporter. With her unique hands now visible to the public, Walker continued her successful career in news anchoring and reporting in San Diego, New York City, and Los Angeles. In addition to her media work, she has also pursued acting roles, appearing as herself in various TV shows.
