Brendan James Penny is a Canadian film and television actor. He gained recognition for his role as A.J. Varland in the TV series Whistler, which aired from 2006 to 2008. Penny is best known for his portrayal of Detective Brian Lucas in the crime drama Motive, which ran from 2013 to 2016. Since 2016, he has starred as Kevin O'Brien in the family drama series Chesapeake Shores on the Hallmark Channel. Penny has also appeared in numerous Hallmark original movies. Born on November 9, 1978, in Ottawa, Ontario, he attended Fanshawe College where he earned a BS in Accounting before pursuing his acting career.
