Brently Heilbron (born December 1, 1976) is an American comedian, musician, and actor based in Austin, Texas. He gained recognition for his work with director Robert Rodriguez and his appearances on various television shows. He began his comedy career at the age of 15 and has since performed standup comedy in Dallas and other cities. He hosted Sir Paul McCartney's special live appearance at Amoeba Music in 2007. He is best known for his verbatim performance of R. Kelly's Trapped in the Closet, which earned him mentions in the Los Angeles Times and The New York Times. He has also appeared in the Los Angeles Opera production of Gianni Schicchi and hosted the series Stand Up Empire on PBS. He has made appearances in television shows such as Significant Others, Friday Night Lights, The Lying Game, and The Leftovers.
